Here’s another simple and effective TMJ mobilization technique you can teach to your clients and do on yourself. Make sure you maintain good posture during this exercise, as letting the head just forward and rounding the shoulders interferes with the benefits of this wonderful exercise.
1. Create proper head/neck alignment by doing a slight chin to throat tuck. Open through the chest and imagine the scapulae sliding towards each other and the low back.
2. With the tongue on the roof of the mouth, open your mouth and separate your teeth. This is a small movement within normal range. 10 reps
3. With the tongue on the roof of the mouth separate your teeth. This is a small movement within normal range. 10 reps
